Aufwiedersehen Kapitel 1 . . . Hallo Kapitel 2!

Today we did our Kapitel 1 test.

After break we wrote out our Kapitel 2 intro notes and began to complete questions out of the book.  Students were told to complete #1,2,3,4 for homework, if they didn't get it done in class.

Last day, we spent some time in the computer lab -- where students setup their DuoLingo accounts and began learning German online.

Remember, when you get a few minutes, jump on Duolingo for ten minutes and reinforce your German!

Test on Friday! Study.

Today we finished up the introductory chapter -- called Einführung.  Students completed and handed in #9,10,11 and received marks.
We reviewed our notes so far and prepared for the test on Friday.
We listened to Toni Kater's song Wo bist du.

The only new thing we learned was how to answer the question:
Wie alt bist du?  Ich bin sechzehn Jahre alt. (how old are you? I am sixteen years old)
Wie alt ist sie?  Sie ist sechzehn Jahre alt. (how old is she? she is sixteen years old)
Wie alt sind Sie?  Ich bin zwanzig Jahre alt. (how are you (formal form of you)? I am twenty years old)

Today's class was a review of all we've learned so . . . study hard for Friday's test!

Intro German 11

Guten Tag!

Today was our second day in intro German 11.  We had a quiz on the numbers 0 - 11 and most students did quite well.

You have a lot of notes that you can review at this point.

Today students completed #1-4 in the introduction of their blue German textbooks.

Each student also received a German name.  Class names are Klaus, Otto, Nina, Stefan, Monika, Bettina Butternase, Günter, Wolfgang, Regina, Helmut, Anja, Bianca, Bärbel, Marco, Gabi, Peter, Rudolf.  Beth and Sara-jo will get a name when they get here.

Homework:  review the notes we've taken so far. You should be familiar with the following short dialogues:
--Wie heisst er?  Er heisst Rudolf. Guten Tag Rudolf.
--Wie heisst du? Ich heisse Anja.
--Wer ist das? Das ist Marco
