Last day we completed our Chapter 2 test
Today we put our noses to the grindstone and wrote our Kapitel 3 Intro Notes and then completed questions 1-5 from Kapitel 3.
For the second half we worked on three things:
Comic Life cartoons -- due tomorrow
#1-5 from Kapitel 3 -- due tomorrow
Duolingo.

Lots of teaching . . . hopefully some learning
The majority of the class was spent with your Lehrer teaching and reviewing chapter 2.
We learned new German words such as Donner, Blitzen, and schrecklich.
We learned the days of the week and the words die Zeit, morgen, and heute.
Students completed questions 18, 18.5, and 19 (18.5 was the questions between 18 and 19 that isn't numbered).
Last day's classwork was also handed back.

Telling time
Today we reviewed the numbers 20-100 and we closely reviewed how to ask and tell time in German. Like in English, there are several ways to give the time
12:15 - Es ist viertel nach.
Es ist viertel nach zwölf
Es ist zwölf Uhr fünfzehn.
Es ist fünfzehn Minuten nach zwölf.
We completed up to #16 in our books.
We will go back into the computer lab during our long block this week and finish up our Comic Life German comics.

Freitag Fun!
It's the end of the week and we completed up to #14 of Kapitel 2.
Today we worked in the library lab with Mr. Haworth and we worked on our German cartoons.
We will have one more library session next week, after which the comic will be due.
Those who were absent can create their own 6-frame German comic strip by hand. It should have perfect German, it should be colourful, and show creativity.
Have a nice weekend!
Schönes Wochenende!

Numbers, telling time, formation of questions
Wir lernen deutsch!
Today we learned a lot.
We learned the two ways to form questions (notes and classwork).
We learned how to tell time (notes and classwork).
We also learned the numbers from 20 to 100.
Remember, your updated marks are posted here on the blog. Next class (Friday afternoon), students will be working on creating a cartoon dialogue in which characters meet, greet, and ask one another questions in German. We'll be in the computer lab learning how to use Comic Life with Mr. Haworth.
If you are absent, create a minimum six framed cartoon in which the characters have conversational exchanges. Make it colourful, creative, and don't be afraid to use what you've learned on Duolingo!

Sehr Gut Deutschklasse!
Great work guys.
We're three weeks in and everyone is doing very well.
Your unit test today was well done. I don't have the marks yet calculated but they look good!
Continue with your work this weekend with Duolingo.com.
You know how to ask and answer about 7 or 8 different questions; you understand verb conjugation; you understand that German nouns have three genders, and, perhaps most importantly, you've learned several German pick-up lines.
Ich liebe dich
Du bist toll.
Kommst du rüber?
I wish you a nice weekend! (Ich wünsche euch ein schönes Wochenende!)
