Es ist bald November!

German 11's - Today we completed the Kapitel 11 unit test.

German 12's - You handed in #6-9 from Kapitel 4 (last day's homework).  Then you worked on and handed in#10-14.  German 12's be prepared for our Kapitel 4 test on Freitag!

Schönes Wochenende!

German 11's -- prepped for our chapter 11 test by focusing on the Lesestück.  Remember, study the vocabulary of a train station (das Gleis, der Platz, das Gepäck, umsteigen, der Schalter, die Fahrkarte, der Wagen).  Study how to give directions in German, Study the modes of transportation and finally study the dative pronouns (mir, dir, ihm, ihr, ihm uns euch ihnen and Ihnen).

German 12's (Lindsey, Kirill, Emily, and Emily) -- you must complete #5-9 from Kapitel 4.  Next day we will continue on with the next set of questions.  Time to start working hard and fast in German 12!

We also had a pretty fun class in terms of some of the other things we learned:  we talked about advances in brain science and how that has helped shape how we teach and learn.  We also practiced active listening -- something that many students struggle with :)

Willkommen Vivien und Vanessa

Today we spent half a class chatting with Vivien and Vanessa.  And while we learned that, yes, German people do close the doors in their houses more than Canadians, they do not "lurk" behind them as our textbook states.

German 11's worked on a past perfect tense sheet.
German 11's will have their chapter 11 test on  Monday

German 12's handed in #4 from Kapitel 4.  It was marked and returned.

Ich habe Weintrauben selbst im Garten Gewachst!

German 11 - Completed "Wie komme ich am besten. . . " assignment.  We'll read them over next day and try and guess where you end up.  Be prepared for your Kapitel 11 test on Monday.

German 12 - We worked on intro vocabulary for kapitel 4 and completed #1-3.

Frohe Montag!

German 11 -- Today we learned all the dative pronouns and completed #13-16 from Kapitel 11.  This is the last element of grammar that we need to learn for chapter 11.

German 12 -- Today we looked at the very last element of our review -- the irregular forms of the narrative past (e.g. aßen, fuhren, kamen). Complete #14-18 pp.96-99)
