Review notes and last day's work on Character.
Today we took notes on setting. Key concept: setting is often used as a mirror of character.
Assignment: read the poem Woodtick by Joy Kogawa (click here to see it). Draw four horizontal lines right through the poem to divide the poem up. For each section describe the setting. Question to answer: "Kogawa uses setting to emphasize contrast. Explain this in two or three sentences."
